Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the Christmas ceremony held in the Kremlin cathedral last night alone after celebrating the Christmas of all Orthodox Christians.
Congratulating all Orthodox Christians and all Russians on the occasion of Christmas, Putin said, “It is deeply gratifying to highlight the tremendous constructive contribution of the Russian Orthodox Church and other Christian denominations in uniting society, preserving our historical memory, educating young people and strengthening the institution of the family.”
Referring to the war in Ukraine, Putin said, “Church institutions give priority to promoting peace and harmony between ethnic identities and beliefs in our country, caring for those in need, and supporting our fighters involved in special military operations. Such a great and selfless work deserves sincere respect.”
