A bronze statue of US First Lady Melania Trump was stolen near her hometown of Sevnica, Slovenia. The statue, depicting her waving during Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration, was cut off at the ankles. Police launched an investigation after a tip-off on May 13.
An earlier wooden version of the statue was destroyed by arson in 2020. The current bronze replica, built by US artist Brad Downey, replaced it on a concrete base.
