Rare April Floods Sweep Through China’s Qinzhou

Heavy, unseasonal downpours have triggered severe flash flooding across Qinzhou in southern China’s Guangxi province. The region was battered by a record-breaking 270 millimeters of rain in just 24 hours, submerging dozens of vehicles and forcing the emergency evacuation of over 200 residents. Experts highlight that this intense deluge is a rare weather anomaly for late April, arriving weeks ahead of the area’s typical mid-May monsoon season. Fortunately, local authorities report that floodwaters are now receding, allowing temporarily closed schools to reopen and daily traffic to safely resume.
