In the city of Karachi in Pakistan’s Sind province, Floods occurred doe to monsoon rains brought life to a standstill in Pakistan’s Karachi city. Drivers had hard time moving on the flooded roads, while many vehicles submerged. The waters damaged power lines and traffic lights as well. The Pakistan Meteorological Department said rains will continue in some provinces.

Russia bombed a prison in Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region, killing 17 inmates and injuring 42, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice. The airstrike hit Bilenke Prison with four bombs, causing heavy damage. Ukrainian officials condemned the attack as a violation of international law and labeled it a war crime.
Zaporizhia is among the regions Russia claims to have annexed in 2022, though it remains mostly under Ukrainian control.
