Russia strikes on Kherson fire station before the ceasefire: 1 death

The Russian army bombed a fire station in Kherson, Ukraine, about an hour before the unilateral temporary ceasefire declared by Russia. Anton Gerashchenko , Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, announced that a fire fighter was killed, were 4 injured, and fire equipment and building were damaged.

Kyrylo Vladlenovych Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that four explosions occurred and a house near the fire station caught fire. He accused Russia of violating international law by striking a second fire station in Kherson in the last two days.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin had declared a ceasefire along the line of contact in Ukraine from 12 a.m. on January 6 to 12 p.m. on January 7, on the occasion of the Orthodox Christmas.
