The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the shopping center, which was hit in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv last night, was used as a warehouse for rocket launcher systems and therefore it was hit. Russian Defense Ministry Spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said, “Ukrainian nationalists continue to use the areas of settlements and social facilities as human shields to place artillery systems and shoot Russian soldiers. At the same time, the areas of the nearby AVM were used as a major base for storing rocket-propelled munitions and reloading multiple launch rocket systems.”
Referring to the news that civilians were targeted in the shopping mall attack, especially by the Western media, Konashenkov said, “We want to draw the attention of the Western media once again. We have presented conclusive evidence that civilian objects in residential areas of Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine were used by the Kyiv nationalist regime as firing positions for artillery and rocket systems,” he said. One person was killed in the attacks carried out, State Emergency Service of Ukraine announced last night.
