Russian tourists commemorate victims of mine accident in Turkey

The cruise ship Astoria Grande docked at Amasra Port in the morning with 662 passengers and 435 crew after leaving Russia and departing for the Amasra district of Bartın after its first stop in Istanbul, Turkey. The 41 Russian passengers and 41 crew members on board carried carnations to the Miner’s Monument in the town center to commemorate the 41 miners who died in the mine accident. Amasra District Governor Kadir Perçi, Amasra Mayor Recai Çakır, and the ship’s Captain, Denis Pavluk, attended the commemoration ceremony. After a minute’s silence, tourists and ship crew laying wreaths at the Miner’s Monument left 41 red carnations at the Miner’s Monument.
