Search and Rescue Teams Arrive in Türkiye after Earthquakes

After the earthquakes that hit Kahramanmaraş, search and rescue teams from various countries have arrived in Türkiye to provide support in the affected areas. The Czech Republic sent a team of 69 people, including one Turkish volunteer, which departed from Ostrava Leos Janacek and Prague Vaclav Havel airports. The German search and rescue team, consisting of 41 people and 7 dogs, set off from Cologne and is headed to Gaziantep. Teams from Kosovo and Croatia have also arrived, with 30 Kosovo Security Force soldiers and a 40-person Croatian Red Cross team consisting of Urban Search and Rescue members and 10 dogs.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations in Russia has also sent aid to Türkiye, including a field hospital with over 40 specialists to provide medical assistance, and search and rescue teams. The ministry has also sent humanitarian aid to both Türkiye and Syria.

The teams are equipped with listening devices, bioradar, special cameras, and rescue dogs to assist in their search and rescue efforts. They plan to stay in Türkiye for 14 days and are in consultation with local authorities to participate in the relief efforts.
