Vanessa and Brenda, two sister at the ages of 16 and 23, died after falling into a 4-meter deep sewer in Mexico City, Mexico.

The incident occurred as one of the two sisters stepped into into the sewer hole, that was left open, while the two were going to a concert with their father. The other sibling went into the sewer to save her sister, but both sisters could not get out of the sewer pit. The siblings’ father tried save his children by climbing down the sewer with a rope he found but he could not manage helping them due the depth of the water.

Residents in the region said that there were 4 uncovered sewer holes in the area and that authorities did not respond to the situation though the incident was reported to them.

Attorney General of Mexico announced that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
