A fire broke out for an unknown reason at 04.40 local time on the first floor of a skyscraper, in the Yuhuatai district of Nanjing, China, where electric bicycles were stored. Quickly spreading to several other floors, the fire caused the deaths of 15 people and injured 44 others, one of whom was seriously injured, officials said. The flames were put out at around 06:00, and the search efforts continued until 14:00.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi declared that Tehran will not enter negotiations while Israeli attacks continue, accusing the U.S. of complicity. Speaking ahead of a Geneva meeting with European officials, Arakchi said, “The U.S. is an accomplice to these crimes and we have nothing to talk about with them.” He emphasized that only nuclear and regional issues would be discussed and ruled out talks on Iran’s missile program. Arakchi also stated that Iran’s retaliatory strikes targeted military and economic sites only, not civilian areas.
