A South Korean court sentenced a woman to four years in prison for blackmailing football star Son Heung-min by falsely claiming she was pregnant and extorting $200,000.
Her partner, who threatened Son 15 times during the scheme, received a two-year sentence. Prosecutors said the woman planned the crime “meticulously” and later demanded more money.
Son, one of Asia’s biggest football stars, currently plays in MLS for the Los Angeles Lakers.
