The US-based space transportation company SpaceX launched the Dragon capsule carrying cargo into space with the Falcon 9 rocket. As part of the company’s 26th Commercial Resupply Services mission, CRS-26, the takeoff from the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Kennedy Space Center in Florida was carried out successfully.

The Dragon capsule, along with approximately 4 tons of food and experimental materials, will dock with the Harmony module on the International Space Station, and the astronauts will unload the cargoes to the station.

If the CRS-26 mission is completed without any problems, the reusable capsule is expected to leave the station with the cargoes inside and parachute into the sea off the Florida coast in early January.
