Spain Registers Soaring Temperature of 44.8 Degrees

Europe is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees, especially impacting southern Spain and Italy. Spain’s town of Andujar has registered temperatures close to 45 degrees, marking the third heatwave this summer. In Italy, temperatures are predicted to remain extremely high for the next ten days, with Sardinia expected to hit 46 degrees. The extreme heat has caused forest fires on La Palma Island in Spain, leading to the evacuation of over 4,255 individuals. The Italian Ministry of Health is implementing measures in hospitals for quick response to heat-related health issues. These extreme weather conditions echo last year’s heatwave, which resulted in over 61,000 deaths across Europe.
