Syrian citizens who boarded on the plane of Turkish Airlines, which restarted flights between Istanbul and Syria after 13 years, sang freedom songs and carried Syrian flags at the Istanbul Airport and on the plane. Some passengers cried out of happiness.
“I am very happy. I have been living in Türkiye for 11 years. I have experienced and survived a lot. I grew up here. I love Türkiye very much. I can say it is my second homeland. I thank Türkiye very much,” said Syrian Ayla Alisa.
Another Syrian passenger, Muhammed Naimoğlu, who noted that he returned to Damascus after 16 years, said that he was now visiting but would definitely return to his country
later.
