Taipei Grand Mosque in Taiwan restored

The Taipei Grand Mosque, designed in 1958 by one of Taiwan’s most famous architects, Yang Cho-Cheng, and inspired by mosques in Ottoman and other Muslim countries, is being restored 64 years later. Taipei Municipality will fund the restoration of the mosque, which is listed as one of Taipei’s most important historical buildings and has been designated as a cultural heritage site by the Taiwan government. It is planned to spend approximately 31 million Taiwan Dollars ($931,000) on the restoration of the mosque, which has a new exterior.
