The voting process for the Taiwanese presidential and parliamentary elections ended at 16:00 local time. The counting has started and the election results are expected to be announced at night.
Sixteen political parties are competing for the 113-seat parliament.
Taiwan, which the Chinese administration wants to take over again under the name of “peaceful reunification”, is officially recognized by only 13 countries in the world.
