The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) searched former US President Donald Trump’s residence in the Florida resort of Mar-A-Lago. Reacting to the operation, Trump claimed that the teams also broke into a safe in his house. “After working and cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. They even broke into my safe! These are dark times for our country. Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the US before,” he said.
According to US media, the operation was related to an investigation into whether Trump brought confidential records to his Florida residence during his term at the White House. It is claimed that the US Department of Justice is investigating the existence of classified records found in 15 boxes of documents retrieved from Mar-A-Lago by the National Archives in early 2022.
