The hospital built by Turkey continues to serve in Albania

The hospital built by Turkey in Fier city of Albania was started its service with the ceremony held on April 21. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was participated the ceremony via video conference,  which Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Turkish Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca were participated. While hospital continuing its service since it was opened, Albanian people are also satisfied with the treatment at the hospital.

Bukuroshe Moçaj, who was receiving treatment, stated that she was from the Ballsh city in the south of the country and came to this hospital with the guidance of his family doctor. While stating that she had a gall bladder operation, Moçaj pointed out the conditions at the hospital and its personal successfully carrying on their work.

Appointed to Fier Hospital by the Turkish Ministry of Health, Deputy Chief Physician Dr. Abdülaziz Can stated that the hospital was decided to be built on January 7, 2021 and it was completed in 68 days. “We started accepting patients on March 27, 2021. We serve in 15 branches with 250 beds, 10 intensive care units, emergency service, angiography center, endoscopy unit, imaging service. The hospital is a 3rd level hospital equipped with state-of-the-art devices. We do not only provide this health service in the city we are in Fier, we provide it in the entire southern Albania region. We provide this health service together with Albanian physicians. 51 staff of our 285 staff in our hospital are Turkish health personnel. Since the opening, we have 116 personnel from Turkey. 27 of them are specialists, the rest are nurse, health officer and our technician friends,” Dr. Can said.

Meanwhile, Hospital Manager Rudina Degjoni stated that since the opening of the hospital, in the 8-month period, service has been provided uninterruptedly. Degjoni pointed out that there is a hospital that can serve approximately 530 thousand people with the referral of family physicians. Degjoni stated that the operating capacity of the hospital continues to increase thanks to Turkey’s investments in infrastructure and equipment.
