Heavy rain caused flooding in some areas of Japan, where evacuation orders were issued for 470,000 people. Following the Japan Meteorological Agency’s (JMA) warnings, local authorities issued evacuation orders for 470,000 people living in 220,000 households in risky areas as of this morning, while experts urged them to be prepared for possible floods and new evacuation orders.
Floods caused by heavy rains were reported in many areas of Miyagi province on Friday, particularly in the cities of Higashi Matsushima, Sendai, Osaki, and Furukawa, as well as the towns of Matsushima and Osato.
