Thousands of Kites Flew over Türkiye’s Van on World Children’s Day

The kite festival, which was held for the first time last year in Van province of Turkey, was held this year on October 1, World Children’s Day. The event, held next to the Hüsrev Pasha Mosque in the southern part of Van Castle, left fun and unforgettable moments for thousands of children.

“We are organizing the second kite festival this year. There were up to 3,000 kites last year, but the number climbed to 6,000 this year,” said Mehmet Fatih Çelikel, Secretary General of Van Municipality.

“I love flying kites. The festival is very nice. I’m glad it was organized. I thank everyone,” said 9-year-old Hayat Özkale.
