Three people died and 5 more were injured after a stampede occurred during Friday prayers in the Umayyad Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Damascus, in the Syrian capital, Damascus. The injured were immediately taken to hospitals via ambulances.
Numerous Syrians are flocking to the historical mosque every Friday since the fall of the Bashar Assad regime.
