A passenger bus lost control yesterday in the central Antique region of the Phlippines, plunging into a ditch. Emergency response teams, including police and health units, rushed to the scene. Seventeen lost their lives, with 11 sustaining injuries in the distressing incident. The injured were swiftly transported to hospitals, and rescue operations successfully concluded.
During a press briefing, Governor Rhodora Cadiao highlighted that the bus’s brakes malfunctioned, labeling the area as a ‘fatal bend’ and noting this as the second bus accident in the vicinity. An official investigation has been initiated to probe the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
