Former U.S. President Donald Trump claimed the U.S. earns nearly $2 billion daily from tariffs and pledged to revive the coal industry. Speaking at a White House event with miners, Trump said tariffs on steel, aluminum, and other imports have spurred domestic factory growth and reduced foreign dependence.

Trump criticized past trade policies, saying the U.S. had been “exploited” by other countries, but now benefits from “tailor-made” deals. He also slammed the Biden administration’s green energy agenda, promising to expand coal use and build new power plants to support energy-intensive sectors, including AI data centers.
