Tunisia sets fixed price on agricultural products amid inflation

According to the Tunisian Commerce Ministry, some fresh agricultural products have been sold at fixed prices since Monday in order to prevent sharp price increases. The ministry set retail prices for potatoes and onions at 1.4 dinars (0.45 US dollar) per kilogram and 1.2 dinars (0.38 US dollar), respectively.

The Tunisian government announced on Monday that the August inflation rate was 8.6 percent, a new high this year, while food inflation was 12 percent.
