Defense Industry President İsmail Demir visited TEI TUSAŞ Engine Industry stand at the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST, which started in Azerbaijan’s capital Buku. Demir said that they had promised to install the TEI-TS1400 engine, which will power Turkey’s first domestic helicopter Gökbey, by the end of the year. Demir signed an agreement with TUSAŞ General Manager Temel Kotil for the Gökbey engine. Kotil also made agreement with TEI TUSAŞ Motor Industry Inc. General Manager and Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Mahmut Faruk Akşit to have the domestic engine fitted to Gökbey until the end of the year.
Noting to TEKNOFEST that there is good interest in Azerbaijan, Demir said, “The interest and excitement are very good. It is important to channel the excitement it into products, and keep this enthusiasm of our young people and project enthusiasts alive with continuous projects. We want to ensure that both Turkey and Azerbaijan reach the place they deserve in the world.”
