Turkey’s Mardin embraces tourists

Drawing attention with its cosmopolitan structure in Turkey’s Southeastern Anatolia Region and a favorite of history and faith tourism, Mardin now welcomes local and foreign tourists throughout the year. Visitors who do not mind that the temperatures are above seasonal normal continue to come to the city.

Saying that they came to Mardin with 22 people, Sina Akan said, “It has such a beautiful culture that we didn’t even notice the heat while we were visiting Mardin. It’s nice when so many cultures live in the same place, respecting each other,” he said.

Indicating that it was his second visit to Mardin, İpek Kurekçi said, “I am really impressed every time. When I come here, it makes us feel at every step that it is a Mesopotamian city. It has an oriental hospitality. This shows us that there are more Ottoman traces on our lands,” she said.
