Turkish FM in Moscow: Backs US-Iran Deal, Urges Action on Israel

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, where he strongly advocated for a peaceful end to the war in Ukraine. During a joint press conference, Fidan praised a recent US-Iran agreement facilitated by Donald Trump, calling it a global “breath of fresh air” that ensures the Strait of Hormuz remains open. He expressed hope that the remaining 60 days of technical negotiations will conclude successfully and without sabotage. Shifting to the Middle East, Fidan urged the international community to unite diplomatically against Israel’s regional actions. He emphasized that only a sincere, global consensus can successfully halt what he described as Israel’s destabilizing behavior.
