Gendarmerie personnel on duty in the Başkale district in Turkey’s city of Van at an altitude of 2.400 meters, doesn’t forget the animals despite 22 degrees below zero cold. In the previous days, the gendarmerie personnel on duty at the traffic control point at the Bebleşin are on the Van-Hakkari highway, noticed a fox coming towards them on the road. Thought that the fox was hungry, the gendarmerie went up beside to the animal. Gendarmerie personnel fed the fox, which couldn’t find food due to snow and was starving for a long time, with their bare hands. Those moments were recorded by a personnel’s mobile phone camera.

In Hatay, Türkiye, excavator operator Bülent Kuyucu paused work for 27 days to protect a dove’s nest on his machine. Kuyucu did not work to avoid disturbing the birds until the dove chicks safely flew away.
Kuyucu said he accepted the financial loss but was happy to see the doves leave unharmed.
