Turkey left its mark on the “Quran and Adhan Recitation Contest” that been held in Saudi Arabia since 2019 and thousands of people being applied. Imam “Muhsin Kara”, who works at the Ravza Mosque in the Turkish city of Sivas, came in 1st at the contest. In addition to that “Alpcan Çelik”, who is the imam at the Emirgan Hamid-i Evvel Mosque in the city of Istanbul, came in the 2nd. Kara won 2 million Saudi riyals and Çelik won 1 million Saudi riyals.
Meanwhile, Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs President Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş congratulated Kara and Çelik from his social media account. “I congratulate Muhsin Kara who came first in the competition and Alpcan Çelik who came in second. I wish them a good life in the way of the Qur’an,” Erbaş said in his statement.
