Seçkin Esen, a music teacher working in Samsun, is preparing to exhibit his collection of 120 tapestries with ethnic and cultural motifs that he collected from 17 different countries in 12 years, with a project he will send to the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and ambassadors.
“As a folklorist, I had the idea of turning this culture into a collection and passing it on to future generations. I collected many tapestries the countries and graves I visited. So far, I have collected tapestries from countries such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Morocco, Libya, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Bulgaria,” said Seçkin Esen.
