Türkiye Takes Over KFOR Command in Kosovo

The NATO Peace Force Command in Kosovo’s capital, Pristina, officially transferred KFOR command to Türkiye in a ceremony at the Film City KFOR headquarters. Major General Özkan Ulutaş assumed command from Italian Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia. Ulutaş pledged Türkiye’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo, emphasizing their 24-year history of involvement. The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including General İrfan Özsert from Türkiye and Deputy Minister of Defense Bilal Durdalı.

KFOR, with 4,500 military personnel from 27 countries, operates under the United Nations to support broader international efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
