Türkiye’s Antalya faces soaring heatwave

The city of Antalya, türkiye a major tourist hub, is experiencing a heatwave, with temperatures soaring to 46 degrees Celsius following a warning from the General Directorate of Meteorology. Despite the extreme heat, locals and tourists are visiting the renowned Konyaaltı Beach, although in fewer numbers, and are taking precautions like staying under umbrellas and wearing hats. Shaded areas in parks have also become popular retreats. Fewer people are seen on the streets and around landmarks like Cumhuriyet Square, with those venturing out using umbrellas for sun protection. The hot weather is expected to continue until the start of next week.
