Türkiye’s Cappadocia had its golden year with about 4 million visitors

One of the Turkey’s tourism center Cappadocia, which is on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list, had its “golden year” as a result of 4,192,070 visitors in 2022. Before that, 2019 was chosen as the “golden year,” with about 3 million visitors, but in the last 2 years there has been a decrease in the number of visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We truly live in the most fascinating and exclusive region of the world. Its history goes back thousands and millions of years. We can call Cappadocia a timeless city. It provides people with numerous options throughout the year. In addition to the balloon tours that are identified with the region, it attracts people with many options such as fairy chimneys, valleys, underground cities, and natural air depots,” said Nevşehir Governor İnci Sezer Becel, adding that Cappadocia has grown in popularity both in Türkiye and around the world.
