Türkiye’s Lake Van Turns Brown

In Türkiye, heavy rain and floods in Ahlat district, Bitlis, caused water to spill from stream beds into Lake Van, coloring it brown. Meteorological warnings preceded the rain-snow mix that affected the region. The floodwaters, visible from the air, created a stark contrast between the brown floodwaters and the usual deep blue of Lake Van, surprising drivers on the Ahlat-Tatvan road.
