Two Dead in Dominican Republic Jet Crash

Two pilots were killed when their private jet made a hard emergency landing and burst into flames at La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic. The aircraft, which was carrying no other passengers or crew, was en route to Texas when it experienced a severe mechanical failure. The pilots declared an emergency approximately 16 nautical miles from the airport before the fatal crash occurred. The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute and aviation accident investigators have launched a formal inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident.
