The UAE reports to have intercepted and destroyed two Houthi ballistic missiles aimed at the country, while Saudi defenses claim to have destroyed a ballistic missile launched into the kingdom’s south. The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced today that Saudi defenses destroyed a ballistic missile launched towards Dhahran Al-Janoub in the Asir region of the Kingdom’s south. The coalition said in a statement that the attack injured two residents, a Bangladeshi and a Sudanese, as missile fragments damaged some shops and cars as they fell onto the industrial zone in Dhahran Al-Janoub.
Later, a spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi rebel militia said they had launched attacks on both the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, without going into further detail. The coalition previously stated that it was using drones to pursue hostile activity by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. According to the coalition, it will take operational measures to protect civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law.
