UK prepares for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Many countries, particularly the UK, will host street parties and special entertainment programs for For Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Between the 2nd and 5th of June, events will be held in honor of Queen Elizabeth, who has reigned in England since 1952. Oxford Street, London’s busiest street, was decorated with flags in honor of the queen, and many shops and pubs displayed photos and toys of Queen Elizabeth in their window showcases.

As part of the four-day program, a military parade will be held on June 2 for the first time in the UK since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak. More than 1,400 soldiers, 400 musicians and 200 horses will attend the ceremony. On the same day, special lights will be lit for the first time in the capitals of the Commonwealth of Nations member states at more than 1,500 points in the UK and the country’s non-mainland territories.

As part of the celebrations, a Thanksgiving service for Queen Elizabeth will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral on June 3. Also a private party will be held at Buckingham Palace on June 4th.
