UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the situation in Gaza as “horrific” and accused Israel of showing no real interest in a ceasefire or hostage release, citing the attack on Hamas negotiators in Qatar. He condemned Israel’s obstruction of aid and forced relocations as “morally, politically, and legally unacceptable.”
Rejecting claims that it is his role to determine genocide, Guterres said that responsibility lies with the International Court of Justice. He warned that without a two-state solution, peace in the Middle East is impossible and extremism will spread globally.
