UNESCO Adds Azerbaijan’s Kınalık Village to World Heritage List

 

Kınalık, a historic village in Azerbaijan known for its unique heritage and seasonal migration route, has been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The village, situated at a high altitude and surrounded by mountains, offers breathtaking views and a rich cultural experience. Its residents, believed to be descendants of the Caucasian Albanians, maintain ancient traditions and a semi-nomadic lifestyle. The migration route, covering 200 kilometers and involving thousands of people and sheep, connects highland summer pastures to lowland winter pastures. Tourists are drawn to Kınalık for its stunning landscapes, local culture, and warm hospitality.
