A Boeing 777 operated by United Airlines experienced a harrowing incident when its wheel, on the left side of the landing gear, detached shortly after takeoff from San Francisco International Airport. Images from the incident, published on the Cali Planes YouTube channel, revealed the wheel breaking off, causing damage to at least two vehicles in the airport parking lot.
The passenger plane, en route to Japan with 235 passengers and 14 crew members, made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport. The emergency landing was executed safely, and no injuries were reported among the passengers or crew. United Airlines has organized a new flight for the affected passengers.
