UNRWA Says No Space Left in Schools in Gaza

While most of those living in the north of the Gaza Strip are moving towards the south, a statement was made about the schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Refugee Agency for Palestine (UNRWA), where Palestinians took shelter. UNRWA spokesperson announced that an unexpected crowd took shelter in schools last night and there was no more space left in schools.

“Look at this kid, we pulled him out of the rubble. He’s covered in blood. I also got injured while looking for him. What is this child’s sin? Our houses were destroyed and now we are at school. We couldn’t get our belongings and clothes. But we are ready to sacrifice ourselves for our country,” said a Palestinian named Amna.

“Part of our house was destroyed, so we ran to schools. We are children, what could we have done wrong? Schools are not safe. We left our belongings, our clothes, everything and ran here,” said a little girl named Sarah.

“We were safe in our home. After the Israeli attack, the roof suddenly collapsed. Now we are at school and there is no food or water,” said Umm Fayez.

UNRWA Commissioner General, in his written statement regarding Israel’s decision to cut off water, electricity and food to Gaza, said that people would start to die from severe dehydration and called for an end to the siege on humanitarian aid.
