US Concludes 11-Day Strike Campaign Against Iran

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the successful completion of an 11-night campaign of military strikes against Iran, wrapping up the final wave in just over an hour. The extensive operation targeted Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, and drone storage facilities in response to more than 30 recent attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Condemning the regional hostility, CENTCOM stated that “these unjustified attacks endangered the lives of hundreds of innocent seafarers and undermined the freedom of navigation of ships.” As the strikes unfolded, Iranian media reported explosions near Tabriz and the activation of air defense systems around Tehran. Despite the escalating conflict, US forces confirmed the strategic waterway remains open, having successfully facilitated the safe passage of roughly 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil since early May.
