US police saved a runner from being crushed to death by a train after chasing him for stealing a police vehicle in Atlanta. The incident broke out as an officer pulled over the suspect during conducting a traffic stop and the criminal got into the police vehicle and fled the scene. Being chased by police vehicles and aircraft, the 29-year-old criminal, named Mickal Parker, lost control of the car shortly after and overturned on train tracks. The police rescued and detained the suspect seconds before a train crashed into the vehicle.
“We are proud of the efforts of the units on the ground as well as in the air, as they all worked to safely conclude an incident that could have ended in death or seriously bodily harm,” the Atlanta police department said.
