The death toll from a US military strike on the Houthi-controlled Ras Issa fuel port in Hudaydah, Yemen, has risen to 33, with at least 80 injured, according to Houthi media.
The attack targeted infrastructure used by Iranian-backed Houthi forces. Among the dead were port staff, relatives, and emergency responders. The US stated the strike aimed to weaken the Houthis’ economic resources.
Initial reports had confirmed 17 deaths, but the toll increased as rescue operations continued.
