Patriotic Syrians are voluntarily cleaning the streets of Damascus, the capital of Syria, which were neglected during the Assad era, because municipal services have not yet started.
“Instead of the municipality, we, the youth, are cleaning. There was no municipality back then; everywhere was covered in garbage. Now we are tidying up the environment and painting the trees. We are renewing Damascus by cleaning it,” said Hafiz Abdullah.
“We are working, cleaning our country and God willing, it will get better. We are not getting paid; we are cleaning the streets voluntarily. We are spread out throughout Damascus and cleaning. We are cleaning Damascus with nearly 500 volunteers,” said İbrahim Camus.
