Wooden car sold for record price in France

A wooden car, made by carpenter Michel Robillard using apple, cherry, walnut, and pear trees, was auctioned in the French city of Tours yesterday. Being modeled after France’s classic Citroen 2CV model car, the wooden car was purchased by a Parisian collector for a record price of €210,000.

Michel Robillard announced that he finished the vehicle he had started in 2011 within a span of 5 years. He further mentioned having ambitious projects lined up for the future and revealed his next endeavor: crafting a wooden rendition of the Citroen DS model, commemorating its 70th anniversary in 2025.
