A 22-year-old young woman’s body was found in a red suitcase near the Yamuna highway in the city of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, India. The young woman’s parents were detained on suspicion of the murder.
According to the autopsy report performed on the body, the young woman had scars on her head, face and other parts of her body, and she died after being shot twice in the chest. Police said the woman was killed by her father after an argument broke out over her marriage to a man of another caste.
Stating that they are treating the case as an “honour killing”, police confiscated the father’s licensed pistol and the vehicle allegedly used in the incident.
