‘Z Ramp’ in Village of Sivas becomes drivers’ nightmare

The steep bend at the entrance to the village of Gazi, located about 40 kilometers from Sivas’s central district, is well-known for frustrating village residents. The “Z ramp,” so named because of its shape, has become a driver’s nightmare due to accidents and other issues. Trucks and long vehicles carrying freight avoid this road, and those that do enter stay on the bend. In the winter, sharp and steep bends become impassable. Those who have passed the ramp previously do not wish to return to this road. Residents of the village complain about transportation difficulties, particularly because long vehicles cannot pass through the bends, and they want to change the road’s route to avoid the bends.

Rahmi Demir, a village resident, stated that heavy tonnage and long vehicles could not enter the road and stated, “Heavy tonnage vehicles are unlikely to arrive on this steep and winding road. Truck drivers who once delivered loads to Gazi Village no longer return because of this ramp. We want these roads rebuilt.”
