Nurses and hospital staff of Samsun Great Anatolian Hospitals exhibited the dresses they created from hospital waste and medical materials in a fashion show named “Zero Waste Costume Fashion Show” to draw attention to environmental pollution. The blue dress, which consists of 10,000 plastic caps, will be presented to Guinness World Records to draw greater attention around the world.
“The fashion industry is the second-most polluting industry in the world after the oil industry. Unfortunately, at the point we have reached, the pressure we have put on nature is very heavy due to our increasing consumption rate. To draw attention to recycling, I wanted to make a dress that will enter the Guinness Book of Records,” said Elif Kılıç, the designer of the costume that she named ‘The Girl with Caps’.
