With the 3 new eruptions occurred today, the total number of eruptions in Popocatepetl Volcano in the last month rose to 31.
In addition to the eruptions, the volcano emitted gas and smoke 160 times in the last 24 hours and it was reported that the lava and ash spewed from the volcano reached a height of 2 kilometers.
Authorities warned citizens to stay away from the mouth of the volcano due to stones and pebbles that may fall into the environment in case of an eruption.
According to research of Manchester University, Popocatepetl is the 5th volcano amongst the volcanos that are expected to erupt severely in the next couple of years.
